  1. I tried was testing dvd burning speeds. I tried to copy a copy of my Lion king, with nero 6009. The blank is 8x certified, the burner burns both 8+ and-, I burned from the dvd to the hd (dma enabled) and right there nero showed 4x when it was writing although it did pick up speed as it was writing (to hd).
It ejected the original nad I put the blank and it still said 4x writing and continued to burn at the same speed.
What am i missing? There is enough power, memory, the blank was 8x certified. It took about 14 minutes.
    Thanks for any pointers.

  2. I had a similar problem with my 4x player. I was using Nero with DVDShrink. I noticed that when the expiration date had passed Nero dropped down to the lower speed. Are you using the Demoversion of Nero?

I think it'll be because you did it on the fly. Copy the files to your HD manually using Windows Explorer and set the disc up as if you have just authored the files. Reading straight from your HD will tell if if you can burn at 8X or not.
    If in doubt, Google it.
