I get a No Disc message when I put a CD in the machine. The laser appears to be OK but the motor does not start. I can get a bunch of messages using the remote plus the front panel buttons. Can I troubleshoot this way or intialize the software (assuming it is corrupted)? What is the most likely cause if the motor does not start? Could it be the motor itself or driver circuitry. Any help on where to look next appreciated.

Your motor is shot or sure ,if you really like the unit take it to an authorized repair shop its going to cost about $75.00 ,but for that price you can buy a new one...

Mine did that to, I just took the top off & gave that white circular cog a little push & its been fine. With the top off, keep your face from that laser eye.
