  1. so i dont often make a post but i have been searching for like 3 days. i need some help...

I have no problem downloading avi and mpeg files and splitting them with virtualdub1.5.10 and burning them to a vcd..

I am now trying to find a program(s) that i can rip a DVD preferably to a mpeg or avi file of some sort.. is this even possible??

I have used DVDDecrypter to rip a dvd and i got multiple .vob files.. i searched thru probably 12 different programs to try and convert .vob files to avi/mpg files.. some wont work because of audio problems.. ie: virtualdub-mpeg2 will work.. but not on "direct steam copy"... and i do not have enough memory to save it by "full processing mode" being as the file will be around 10 gb and i doubt that would even fit on a vcd newayz..

point being is i know how to do this stuff but cannot find a program that will work..eazyvcd1158 seemed like it would work... but everytime it reads the cd it closes out.. so im stuck here..

i appreciate any help anyone can give me thanks alot!

In Vdub you need to specify a compression type when using full processing mode (video > compression) before you save. If you don't then it will save it uncompressed which is very large.

If you're wanting to create a VCD then use DVD2AVI instead, it will create a small frameserver file which you can open with TMPGEnc. Look it up in the guides.

Of course you can just frameserve from Vdub to TMPGEnc as well. Frameserving allows the video to go direct from one program to another without saving an intermediate file. Here's a guide.

    Eazy VCD.

I gave it a try three days ago and install/setup took about FIVE MINUTES! Make sure to read Sefy's guide about (link somewhere here).

I had my first ripped DVD movie in mpeg format in exactly TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES after installing/configuring the program!

    It's that easy.
