  1. Ok, I've been at this transition thing in Premiere 6.0 for quite a few hours now, and it's really getting frustrating. What did they do to it? 5.0 was so much easier with transitions!

Ok, not only can I not figure out how to get the transitions working PROPERLY (what the heck did they do??), but now when I place a clip into the second track of video 1, it MOVES everything in the first track of video 1 over, pushing everything out of sync!!! WHY?? I have Shift Material Only in Targe Tracks selected, and it still shifts everything in the first track of Video 1. :S I have a feeling I'm going to have to pass on the "new fangled features" that 6.0 has to offer and revert myself back to 5.0

    PLEASE HELP!

Try editing in single track mode.

I don't understand what is single track mode and how you expect to use transitions in it.

Does anyone here know how to use transitions in either way? (a/b and single track) ??

Anyone know the exact way they expect you to do it in 6.0 now?

If you go to the window tab then go to workspace options you can switch between editing modes. I have not edited in ab mode so I can't help you there. In single track you just take 2 clips put them side by side on the same track, then from the transition window drag and drop your transition between your two clips on the same track. To me that seems simple but maybe it's not. Good luck.

  5. Ok, I'll try that.
But the thing I liked about 5.0 was how in a/b mode you can have the clip the length you want as well as the length of the transition. In 6.0 it changes the length of the transition, the length of the clip, it disappears when you move it, it's SO weird.
I'm gonna try your way, but I guarantee I'll be switching back to 5.0 in 10 minutes.

    Thanks for your help.

HAS ANYONE ELSE HERE MASTERED THE ART OF TRANSITIONS IN PREMIERE 6.0 ????

    Thanks.

I have never used 50 but I think I am starting to see what you are talking about. I have one question about Premiere that maybe you can answer for me. Is there a way to have, a dissolve trasition take up the entire length of 2 clips. Kind of like sumperimposed on top of each other? And I don't mean composting or anything like that. At least I don't think that is what I mean.

Yes, you can... in 5 point freakin' 0!!!! DAAAHHHH!!!
I'm in the process of uninstalling 6.0 right now.

Someone e-mail me when they've figured the transition out.
