I've been having some major major problems...
I have shot and done afew scenes on a project that im doing... and i've added a huge collection of special effects in after-effects...
I have an entire 1minute long scene just full of special effects.
now, keep in mind that i need to make a short film. so i try to "export" to premiere project from after effects..
So it saves a premiere project file and i open it with premiere. it opens fine, the videos all are good... except i notice all the spcieal affects that i edited in after effects are off, and some of them dont even show up. Mask layers (for when i'm blending two videos together) dont even show...
So i give up on that idea and instead of exporting from after effects to premiere, i export to a .avi video file. I've tried... every codec possible...
everytime i inport the .avi into premiere, there is no video, its a gray screen. the files play in VLC media player though...
So now that i've finally accepted the fact that i probably wont be using premiere to edit, is/are there any other alternative editing programs for this short film that i can use?

Within Premiere, you should be able to go import the Composition directly onto the timeline..
File>Adobe Dynamic Link>Import Composition...
