I've recorded an episode of MST3K from my laptop s-video into my set top DVD recorder. I then took the DVD+RW onto my computer and ripped it in file mode, giving me a number of separate vobs. The *first* one I edited to remove a bit of blank or dead space in Womble's mpeg-vcr, and it then generates an mpeg output, which I use to author. Well, authoring is no problem, except I do not want to add 4 separate files, I only want 1 file, ie a continous movie.
So, once it has been recorded (onto a Liteon 5001 clone) in 2 hour mode, what is the best way to go about the process of removing a small portion of what has been recorded, if in the transferring/authoring process I want to avoid having the final file split up?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
Tom

I should clarify that I've tried Ulead DVD Moviefactory 2 and 3m and when importing DVD Video, they both seem to insist on splitting the movie into a numer (~10) of segments. I don't want this; I want one chunk. Failing that, I want seemless playback of the segments, which doesn't seem to occur.
Of course, I could be using the program incorrectly.

Thomas Davie,
You should be able to open your VOB's into the video clips list found in the tools menu in MPEG-VCR(ver.3.14) after you've added them to the list it should save them into 1 contiguous file, if you are using the NTFS file system this should be no problem, even after you have your 1 big file you should be able to scrub through and do any edits then before you save the final file for authoring. hope this helps, Ain't MPEG-VCR great!!? -
I'll be damned. Worked exactly like you say, and yes mpeg-vcr is a nifty tool. There are *small hitches*, much less than before, at ~ the 28 minute mark (this is the limit of the individual file size created by my set top recorder I guess), so I'll consider this a victory.
thank you.
