I recorded a short clip via firewire directly from my camcorder with WinDV and when I tried loading the clip in VirtualDub I get the following error message. Anyone know what's going on?

That's beause it is DV1, Virtualdub wants DV2 only. Convert to DV2 and it will work.

If you try to put AVI 1 files (DV 1) into Virtualdub they will fail. Look in help or tutorials, this is basic stuff.

Not true. VirtualDub can handle type-1 DV files, it just can't get the audio out of them.Originally Posted by pepegot1
