  1. New to video, Would the Sony Screen Blast be a good program to purchase? If not, what's better for under $100? Thanks

Yes, its a great editor for beginner. Easy to use, and does quite a bit for lite version of video editing. I would highly recommend it for the money.

  3. I have been using Sony's Screenblast Movie Studio for a couple months now and it is fantastic. I have 4 DVDs created for video from 2003 and the results are amazing.

Check out the support/user forum. Very informative.

But it isn't an authoring tool. Moving you to the editing forum.

  5. Yes, it's very good- and if you ever outgrow it's set of features then you already know how to use the full blown Sony Vegas program, because Screenblast is basically a feature-limited version of Vegas.

PS- Screenblast actually does include a DVD authoring tool, but it's certainly more well-known for it's editing and rendering abilities.

does anyone have a link to a feature-comparison between Vegas and Screenblast? I took a quick look at the Sony site, but didn't see one.
