magic bullet / cpu dragging?

I'm playing around w/ the Magic Bullet filters w/ vegas 5...have you guys found that the magic bullet really slows rendering time? (framic filter)

2 pass mainconcept encode at highest quality in vegas would take ~24 hours for 42 mins of video w/ 2 ghz cpu

frameserve from vegas to procoder CBR encode highest qualilty (not matering, but highest quality) is showing ~37 hours (!)

I'm getting about a half (.5) frame per second on encoding..very slow .. much slower than normal

source is wedding video, so nothing super complicated about the content

has anyone found similar results?

Similar and sad. They (red giant ) even agree that if I added a Movie look to 1.5 hours of my wedding video's , it would add an additional 210 hours rendering time !!!!

Sad sad. Useless. Beautiful look but by the time its done, the bride and groom are either divorced or celebrating their 10th anniversary.......So Guess there is no need to purchase the additional 50 looks......

cool - I thought this post was long dead

I did it on 42 mins of wedding video - I thought it came out pretty nice but took maybe 36 or so hours to save just as an avi!!..lighting was bad so I'll have to try it on another project

I'd be interested to know what those who have been doing this longer think of the looks..

yeah, those other 50 looks are a bit pricey too...$199 on special ... I guess I don't (have time to) use it enough to justify the addt'l looks but would really be interested in a few

they should bundle them in smaller packs maybe 10 for $49 or sell in singles for $8 or $9

Its really pretty sad. Here is a great plug-in, I would gladly pay 199 for the upgrade, but absolutely useless as a product.

Its kind of like if your new Cable / DSL broadband service had instant access to verey website , page to page...BUT takes 5 hours to Log On.

What good is that ??? Answer - None. Can anyone technical explain, is this absolutely necessary or are their coders very inefficient (perhaps due to age) ...Hmm
