Any one know of a review on what brand or type of DVD media is most comptible with stand alone DVD player? I have recorded a home video on a CompUSA DVD+R media and it plays very well on my DVD; however, it wasn't working on my brother's DVD player. So this lead me to ask the qeustion of what brand name, if any, or type of DVD media is most compatible with existing DVD players. I also recorded a home video on a Verbatim DVD+R media and about six months later, I can't play it on my DVD player. There's not a scratch or anything physically damaged that I can see of. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Media is only part of the equation. There are other compatibility issues as well. Such as audio for one example. Some players just get real uptight about the audio stream you feed them, others don't. Look through some of the guides here, they can be very helpful. There is also a media guide here with ratings. My personal preference is Taiyo Yuden. Others seem to like Ritek.
