Hi all,
some questions on DVD-VCDs and backing up original DVDs to 1 DVDR.
1) I've got some VCD images on my hard drive and I wanted to burn them to a DVD+R, therefore having a few movies on one DVD. I think it is first necessary to change the audio from 44khz to 48khz, then burn them to DVD+R. Is this correct?
2) If I do this, will I still be able to burn the VCD images to CDR and play them as normal VCDs even though their audio will be 48khz, or will I have to keep 2 versions of the same VCD. One to burn normal VCDs and one to burn DVD-VCDs?
3) Is all of the above still true for xvcds? will I need 1 versions of the same xvcd?
4) Also, Ive heard that there is a programme called DVD X Copy Platinum which allows you to back up original DVDs to DVD+R, but usualy requires more than 1 DVD+R to do this (because of the size of the movie+ extras). Is there anyway to Back up a DVD Movie to 1 DVD+R even if it means removing some of the extra stuff? Can you pick and choose which stuff to keep/discard? Is this the best programme for this perpose?
If you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Icebergx

If you want to create a VCD with those specs, including the audio, then it will be an XVCD. the X in XVCD simply denotes it is non standard. How far off standard will still play in your DVD player depends on the make/model of player.
2) see 1 above
3) see 1 above.
4) Probably the best program for backing up DVD's to DVDr ir DVDshrink. Its free. There are several guides to its use. Try it. -
Thanks a lot.
Sorry about asking all that stuff, I really appreciate it. I did try to search the forums, but some times you get so many possible matches back that it is a bit overwelming and can be hard to figure out bits of info from many sources, and pin them all together. I'll try harded next time.
