Ok I asked this in another forum and got no answer. Hopefully someone will have an answer here.
If I have an IMG file I burn with either DVD Decrypter or Clone DVD the result is a very pixellated movie backup, sometimes even freezes right up. If I take the contents of a VIDEO_TS folder and burn it with Nero, I have no problems! DVD player in question is an old Apex 703.
Would it be possible to get the IMG file extracted back to a VIDEO_TS folder and burn with nero? I'm open to other suggestions. Thanks.

You could try ISOBuster. But if your using DVDDecrypter to create the img files, you would be better off using it in file mode instead of img mode. That way it will decrypt the files as files on your drive instead of an image file.

Ok now I got this when I go to burn the file:
DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue?
Ok, now what? -
What you can do is mount the image file with daemon tools or alcohol 120% as a virtual dvd and use either dvdshrink or whatever you prefer for ripping and extract that way.
-
Files aren't corrupt.
Tried mounting with both Daemon and Alcohol, DVD Shrink says:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid DVD navigation structure
...I didn't know this was going to be so difficult...it shouldn't be. -
If I mount the image with Daemon, then dump it (again) with DVD Decrypter, then do "Open Files" with DVD Shrink, I get this:
Failed to open file VTS_04_5.VOB
The system cannot find the file specified.
This file doesn't exist in the VIDEO_TS directory. Could this be some sort of problem with one of the IFO files? If so, how to fix it? -
Got that, opened the VIDEO_TS.IFO file. Selected "Get VTS Sectors", it fixed some problem it found, I saved it, however it did not make any difference. If there's something specific I'm supposed to look for and manually edit I'm all ears

I would just take the VOB files by them selves and run them thru it. Follow the guide here.

This will create new IFO and BUP files for you. So if those are what's causing the problem in Nero it may fix it. -
Following that guide only makes the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_01_0.IFO files, and Nero still has the same error message.

First off thanks everyone for the advice. Here's the end result, and what I did.
Take IMG image file
Extract VIDEO_TS with ISOBuster
Start DVD Video project with Nero (6.3.0.3 in this case)
Add the files, burn
Nero comes up with the above mentioned error, just hit ok
Burn goes ok, movie plays fine, despite Nero's warnings. Go figure!!
Now what about the movies I already burned as IMG files? Should I just re-rip them and re-burn? Think they'll come out ok or do I have to start all over again (I no longer have the IMG files on those, unfortunately) ? -
Try one to see how it works out.
Glad to hear the other one worked out ok. -
No such luck on the movies I've already burned with IMG files. Re-ripped with dvd decrypter, burned with Nero, but the pixellation/freezes are still there. I guess I'll have to start all over on those
