    Hi,

The other day I got myself a file of a program I would like to watch. The format of the file was .IMG. I changed that to .ISO so my burning software (Nero 6.6.1.15d) could work with it. But it (Nero that is) had problems with the size of the file. It said:
Data to be written: 4.485 MB
    Space available: 4.482 MB

Next I tried to process the file using DVD Shrink (version 3.2). That resulted in the following message:
DVD Shrink encoutered an error and cannot continue.

After that I mounted the ISO file on a virtual drive, and tried to use Nero and DVD Shrink again. Again the same result.

Clearly the ISO file is corrupted. But viewing other files I got from the same source I see more files that are to big to burn to a DVD. So do you know what options are available for me to solve this problem?

Try burn on dvd-r instead of dvd+r(A dvd-r is some MB bigger than a dvd+r). And try burn with imgburn.

How did you the change from img to iso? Just a rename?
Convert it, or use his cue file to burn img file with Nero.

You can also use something like UltraISO (or any other Iso program) to look inside the image file. If it´s correctly converted to iso, even WinRar or 7-Zip can extract the isofile.

You can also watch most video image/ISO files with VLC media player. If VLC won't play it, it's likely damaged.

    Thanks all for your replies.

Baldrick: I was using DVD+RW. I will buy a new batch of DVD-R's (are DVD-RW's an option?) which I will buy tomorrow.

NoBuddy and redwudz: I downloaded the suggested software, and will play around with it the next weekend.

All & others: But what about the error message from DVD Shrink? I stated it encountered an error?

When I looked on the virtual DVD the files seemed normal. The VIDEO_TS directory contained the normal collection of .BUP, .IFO, and .VOB (as far as I could tell).

I was hoping on playing the file using the virtual drive. But as I have disabled autoplay I need to figure out what I need to do to start up the video.

Try drag and dropping the various .vob files(in the TS folder) to VLC player or Media player classic. If no view, it's a bad ISO.

Thanks for your reply. I tried what you suggested with Media Player classic. The files appear to be correct (not broken). I did not see the complete episodes. But I did click on the last part of the episode assuming that if a .VOB file is broken it will also be broken at the end.

So what can I look into now? Any 's?
