With any capture program that I have tried up to now (PowerVCRII, ATIMMC, IUVCR) I have found that after close it and then go to reopen, there is no sound. I can still play saved files with sound in a media player but I have none in the TV capture program as it plays or records. This only fixes itself when I reboot.
This is not a problem with WINDVR. I can open and close as oftern as I like and not lose sound. Any thoughts. I have an ATI TVWonder VE capture card.

I had the same problem with an ATI AIW Radeon 7500. My problem was a Soundblaster Live! sound card. It seems that card had drivers that never worked properly with Win2k or XP. After each capture session, it would 'mute' the 'Line In' input. However, it was hard to find because everytime I booted up it would return to its original unmuted state. I don't know your OS or audio device but you might check your settings after capturing to see if anything has been muted.
