I noticed that the latest virtualdub has audio filters, thing is I need one for noise. Was wondering if there is an audio filter that gets rid of crackling/noise in the audio that maybe I missed or I can find somewhere.

In the add filters dialog box-click on input, lowpass and output in that order-click close button-in filter graph click on lowpass, then configure button
