  1. Heres my situation:
I have an old win98 computer with files like CAD, that I want to move to my computer that has win xp. I dont have the cd's anymore to re-install the programs I want to keep using, but I want to transfer them all to the Win XP computer. Can I just copy the entire drive (about 4gigs) onto a dvd-r and paste them on the xp computer? Or is it more complicated than that?
    Please help.
    Thanks.

  2. Your registry won't be correct if you just cut and paste.

You could just dual boot and install the old hard drive into your new computer

  3. Is there any other way?
Can I clone the entire drive somehow?
    Ghost?
Basically, the old drive is OLD, and can die anytime now. So I just want to copy the files on it and leave it be.
    But the programs...???
