I today uninstalled old versions of soundforge and sony vegas and installed newer versions (thats all I did differently) and since everytime I paste a file or drag a copy I get the little windows installer box pop up and try to install roxio easy media creator 7 which I have had on the PC for years.
Anyone know how to unlink copying and pasting to installing this program?
Driving me bonkers and I have to cancell it and it pops up 4 times before going away and then the files copy.
PLEASE HELP!!

I had a similar problem a few years ago. Drove me nuts but I finally got it fixed. I think I used this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
As I remember, it gives you a list of programs that have been installed via Windows Installer and you can select and clear out any Roxio installation remnants that might be in your registry.
If that doesn't work, search on Windows Installer problems and Roxio. Seems like I went through a lot of threads on MS forums related to similar problems with their installer.
Wish my memory was better. Good luck with it. -
If you want to get rid of Roxio...I believe I used something called RoxioZap to uninstall everything....I then re-installed only the CD cover creating program.

Assuming you are still using Roxio, you may just need to reinstall it. It's possible, removing the other programs also removed a shared file used by Roxio, and now it is trying to fix it.

Thanks for your help, ran the program in Squash's post and problem fixed.
Much appreciated all, thankyou.
