When I play a downloaded movie on my computer the quality is very good. But after I burn it to a VCD using nero, the play back on my DVD player is very poor, very blocky. A friend says that it could be a problem with poor quality cables from the TV to the DVD player or trying to burn at too fast a burn speed however after much trial and error I still encounter the same problem. Could it be the version of Nero I'm using it is version 5.0.3.1 or could it be the apex player any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

It is a problem of the encoder and its settings. Did you try TMPGEnc?
