Why won't dvd's I burned from Microsoft Movie Maker play on my home dvd player. It only plays back on a computer.

	there's a few dvd players that do support wmv's but it has to say it does 
 same with avi, divx and xvid's

	Yep. All DVD players play DVD-compliant files. Windows Movie Maker does not make them. A few set-top, standalone DVD players (not many) will play wmv files (like zoobie said), and of course your Windows PC will handle what you made. But if you want to make a true DVD that will play on all DVD players, you need to know how to author a DVD-compliant movie. For starters, you can look in the left column for "What Is>DVD." 
 
 Your easiest option would be to take your wmv file and use FAVC or DVD Flick to convert it to something that will play on dedicated DVD units. However, a wmv file is a poor-quality source, and the finished product may look pretty crappy.
