  1. Hey all!

Where do you guys get your disks? I can't seem to find much around where I am, in London, Ontario.

What kinds of stores do you go to?

    HELP!

    Thanks.

My two Canadian Favourites are: WallMart and Futureshop

Quite simply because they stock my current Favourite media (Maxell 2x-4x DVD-R). I wait for the 5pks to go on sale for 9.99(CAD), which works out to $2 a disc, which is a pretty fair deal.

Futureshop also has free shipping if you buy online.

If you want to go for the "discount"/"value" media, a good Canadian site is www.blankmedia.ca . Ships out of Kitchener I believe.

The discs of interest are Ritek 4x (G04), and they go for about $1.50 - 1.40 a disc, depending on what quantity you buy.

They do also carry much less expensive media, which becomes more uncertain in terms of quality, the cheaper the price.

So for the absolute "best" quality, it's the Maxell from either Walmart or Futureshop. For the "value" (discs I don't necessarily need to have until the end of time, and ones I don't mind a plain top) it's Ritek G04s from www.blankmedia.ca. (Note: RitekG04's are incredibly popular and are considered to be better than most other stuff out there, value priced or not. I'd rate them slightly less than the maxell simply because they don't have an attractive looking top).

    Hope this helps

  6. and if you're in the UK, I heartily recommend www.svp.co.uk. They always seem to be about the cheapest as well as being reliable. Anyone know of any cheaper sites? (Ridata £32 for 50, Ridata 'film reel' £15 for 25)
