How about CCE, Canopus Procoder, or Mainconcept? You have to use one of the 4. If you can't figure it out from the guides, then stop download 700 MB AVI's (everyone knows what those are).

Well if you want something to do the job quickly then you're going to be out of luck. TMPGEnc is a fine piece of software, look at it this way - the time it took you to reply to these messages you could have done the job with TMPGEnc

Learn something new every day! I'm a complete newbie at tea making so what are the settings? Does in put the milk in first or last? What's the output quality like. Does it just make tea or can it do coffee as well ( a friend told me that Main Concept can do that). Apparently there are a couple of other encoders that can serve up a reasonable omlette (heavily interlaced though - still if you're going to eat on your TV only.......)

I'm saying if you can't figure out how to convert your stolen movies, then shut up. There is no such thing as a public domain 700 MB AVI (with 2 exceptions, are you a deadhead?).

Everything you need to know has been gone over several thousand times, and even put into text in the guide sections. Step by Step instructions. If you can't follow the instructions, then stop downloading AVI's (try VCD/SVCD, no conversion required....that is if it isn't a PAL/NTSC issue).

  10. I know what you are saying about this person with 700meg files, and I am one of those who download them as well, but I can say I am one of the minority who actually downloads the films and then buy them when they come out over here, I am currently downloading Smallville and trying to put them onto DVD with no joy as the Sync keeps going out, but I have Bought the Season 1 Boxset and will buy 2 then 3, I am wanting to do things to tide me over until that date. But I am against the people who just want to download films to knock on.
