I am leaning toward the liteon as it is ammong the cheapest and seems to keep the fast cd burning. I have had great luck with my lite on cd burner so i would think they would keep up the quality. I have a bunch of dvd-r's a friend gave me so that is the speed i am really concerned with.

What is the recomended drive here? Is there another one around this price that is better?

    Thanks alot for the help.

  2. people say NEC 2500a is the best, and one of the cheapest.

    Lite-on is good too.

Plextor is suposedly the best of the best, but more expensive.

    So go on that

  3. I just purchased the NEC2500 and am happy with it. I have only burned 2 data dvd's so far for archiving. I burned one +R and one -R. Both burned fine. Nero successfully verified the data after the burn and I also put the dvd's into my LiteOn combo drive and used DVDInfoPro to do a read error check and it found no errors. I will probably try burning a video dvd this weekend, but I am happy so far. Also, for the 4x +R disc it offered a 6x burn speed.
