    Simple Newbie question:

If I were to convert the music from a stack of CD's to mp3, then burn these mp3 files to DVD, approximately how much playing time of music might I expect to fit onto a single Audio DVD? 10hrs? 20hrs? 40hrs?

It would depend on the bitrate, the lower the bitrate the more you could fit on the dvd. Looking at it another way you could fit 6x 700mb cd's onto 1 dvd and still have room to spare (I think).

  3. Yes bitrate and song length affects play time. The average song is 4 minutes + an MP3 encoded at 192kbps CBR=5.5MB.
    4,380,000,000 divided by 5,500,000=796 songs or 3185 minutes(53 hours)

Make sure your DVD player supports DVD-MP3,check the "DVD Players" forum.
