  2. A DivX is an avi. AVI only stands for Audio Video Interleave, and only tells where the video and audio is stored in the file. It does not says which codec is beeing used. So a DivX is an avi with the DivX codec. So, what do you want to do with the DivX, change the codec?

If so go to the convert section and read some of the guides that you will find there.

  5. well since a divx file is an avi file, you need to convert the file to mpeg2.

Depending on what your DVD player will accept, you can convert your Divx-Avi to an mpeg for VCD, SVCD or DVD. After conversion you can then author and burn to disk. Look up Avi to VCD, SVCD or DVD in the Guides section for all the details.
