If it appears with any video, I would guess that it's a conflict with TMPGEnc and other software, or the installation of TMPGEnc wasn't totally successful.

Try closing any software that you don't need (i.e. disconnect from the net and close firewall, virus scanning software etc. as well as any other programs you don't need) and then try it. Check Task Manager to make sure that the programs are properly shut down.

Or, uninstall TMPGEnc, re-boot the machine, and re-install.

Beyond that, I don't know (as the above is what I would do...).

    Good luck.

  5. Check your settings and increase Direct Show priority. In my version it's in global settings, I think it's called environmental settings in current versions(?) Go to VFAPI plugins and right click Direct Show, then click increase priority until it's at the top. Then use a template without changing anything there. Hope that does it for you.

Just checked the guide Daamon pointed you to. Yeah, your solution is almost certainly there. Good luck.

    Hi nib,

The link I gave takes you to a page with details of the guide, not the guide itself. When there you need to click on the URL (https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc.htm#problems) under where it says the word "Link".

I've hade a look, and the second one (starts "If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes...", and contains "Write error occured at address...") might be the one for you.

Sorry nib, that's all I can think of...

I've not seen that problem myself. I had a search through the forums, and found this link:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134090&highlight=

Particularly, see the post by Nikolai on 04 Jan, 2003 09:33...

    ...that may be of use.

Good luck. Sorry I couldn't help more.

  11. Have you tried running an AVI through VirtualDub first to mask bad frames and decompress the audio?
