  1. I have some home movies that have a ripple effect when the camera moves or if anything moves in the video is there a way to get rid of this? I am convinced that it is the video itself not the software player but it play fine with power dvd but then another video will have the ripple effect in that software so i just can't win.

I would like all my home videos to play in WM11 since most of my family has it. The AVCHD videos that i converted to MPEG-2 play fine in WM11 but the older HDV video gets the ripple effect in it.

    Any suggestions?

  3. What do you mean by ripple? combing? Maybe post a screenshot

    Does it look like this?
    www.100fps.com

If so, try vlc, activate deinterlacing on playback in the options

If the problem has to do with interlacing you'll have to deinterlace if you want to be sure that everybody's player plays it correctly.

    Maybe a field reversal.

    DV is lower field first.
HDV and AVCDV are upper field first.
