  1. Hi every1!

I was trying Tmpgenc DVD Author and compiled some 20-min. VCD episodes that it accepted with no problems. Actually my problems came with the DVD-playing.
I told Tmpgenc to "after one track, play next track..." and it worked alright, BUT a major problem happens: I can't SKIP a track!!!! For example:
I`m watching track one, but wanna go to track two using the "skip-foward" (ok, dunno the right name) button on the remote. but nothing happens. I can only fast-foward it (as in VHS tapes...) what is in no way comfortable for my viewing pleasure

Till now, I only tried with PowerDVD but I believe the same would happen when I burn it to a DVD-R.

Any thoughts of what I'm doing wrong?? Or the software only really works that way??

    thanxx

  2. I believe that it is working properly. To do what you want to do, you need to have chapters withinh the clip to skip to.

What you need to do si when you add a track:
Either go to "Chapter cut edit"
or if the track is already added, click the edit button, then as above.

Now Click the "Move to end frame" button, then click the "Previous" button, then click the "Add current frame to chapter" button.

Then you will have something to skip to at the end of each track (title) you added.

    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck

If you're doing 20 minute vcds, each on a seperate track then you'll have quite a few tracks on a dvd. If you have not added any intermediate chapters within each track, then pressing the chapter> button should advance you to the next track. In other words, if you start playing the dvd on track 1, then you press your chapter> button quickly 5 times, you should then be playing track 6.

At least that will happen on my dvd players, and I have made dozens of multi-track disks.

I also wouldn't be as certain that PowerDVD playing an authored dvd on your PC, will act exactly the same as your standalone player. Try it with a RW disk as a test.

It works as you state on one of my Players but not the other.. SO I just add a chapter at the end of the clip for compatibility.

FWIW The Apex will skip to the next title, but the Sony will only let me fast forward or go to the menu.

    Cheers
