I am using SmartRipper 2.41 then AutoGK 0.8 with all the necessary Codecs. The problem I am having is actually fitting the .avi files onto a 80min CDR!! I have tried splitting the original .avi into 2 CDR or 3CDR even custom sizing to 650mb. The problem is when I got to burn ( I am using Nero 6.0.0.0 ) trying the manual way, I choose SuperVideoCD,Try to fit on disc size setting of 80min, then go to open the file, in the correct dir, Nero wants to open a compilation or image, not .avi. Yet when I use Nero Express and choose Videos/Pictures, then SuperVideo CD, I can see my .avi and start the encoding process, BUT when it comes time to burn the CDR, Nero says the file is too big!!!I need either good instructions on how to do this or a suggestion to use another burning software. I have a OPTORITE DVD_RW with the latest firmware installed.
Sooo my problem is fitting the .avi files onto a 80 min CDR.
PLease help.....Thanks

Your problem is a lack of understanding of the difference between an SVCD and a data disk. An SVCD consists on an MPEG-2 file and is burnt in Mode 2 which will accomodate 800 MB on a standard disk. A data disk can contain any file, but is limited to 700 MB. This is because of error correction which is not present on the SVCD or VCD/
If you feed Nero any Non-Mpeg file it will attempt to re-encode it to MPEG, which, being a less efficient compression method than Divx (which I must guess you are using as you did not specify), this will yield a much larger file.
