  1. hey im new here and i was wondering if u guys can help me wit a pro i hav when i open a file in virtual dub i get an error msg that says

"VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with the standard CBR values durring processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to (number of ms ie. 49431)ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder."

but i dont have a problem wit the syncing of the audio i cant even open up the .vbr file in tmpgenc it says can not open or unsupported

i have look through this forum for about the past week and havnt found ne thing that works so if u could figure this out for me it would be much appriciated

You have VBR encoded MP3 audio, extract it to wav and use the wav as the audio source. Goldwave can do that or use Virtualdub MP3 freeze.

  3. You can also use nandub as it works fine with vbr mp3 audio.

  4. Thats fine if you are going to convert the avi to mpg - just click ok to that message. Then click on file and Save WAV and save it somewhere then use TMPGEnc to convert it - select the Video source as the avi file and the audio source as the WAV you've just created you should have no problems with the audio sync if the source file is fine
