  1. I used TMPEG to make the Divx into a MPEG 2 then I authored it with TMPEG DVD Author, then burned it with TMPEG DVD Author and when I play it back its rather jumpy any ideas why?

  2. Was it jumpy before you edited it, if not was it jumpy after you authored it but before you burned it.

Check your framerate, what are you coming from ntsc ? going to say pal ?

  4. anyone I have to burn it to a DVD R and I dont want to burn it unless I can get it fixed right

note this is for my brothers dvd player and it only plays -R and -RW and I used a +RW to test it out to make sure that it will work fine and thats when I found out that it jumps.

  5. Try frame serving it with Virtualdubmod to TMPGEnc. I Had a similar issue with an Xvid avi.

    Hope this helps

He said that it is fine after authoring only goes wrong after he burns it.

Ignore turtle, your problem is not your conversion method. His method may alleviate your problem if it was skipping AFTER you authored. Your authoring method is fine as it plays ok. Check your media.

what speed are you burning at? have you tried a different burning app? you might not think these things matter but it can be the difference between good results and bad. try burning the video ts folder with nero.
