  1. I have a LeadTek Winfast 2000XP Del. on a ASUS P4P800 deluxe mobo. I am using onboard sound and was wondering if there is a way to make the TV card play the sound through the digital audio out. So far, I have only been able to get sound on my speakers using either headphones or analog cables into my onboard sound.

I am using the latest drivers and the latest PVR software. Everything else can play sounds through the digital out except the TV card. Games, winamp, dvd, movies everything plays fine through the SPDIF cable.

Is there any sort of registry or driver hack or something that will allow me to accomplish this? Thank you.

Just a guess, but the way the Leadtek TV card works is that u have to feed the sound source out "output" of the TV card directy into the in "input" of ur sound card/mobo. The source is anolog in and goes directly to the output from ur sound/mobo card to ur speaker. No conversion is done, its just a pass thru, unless u have digital speakers. Its not digital so the SPDIF (digital) will not work. As a test try storing a recorded TV prog on the HD and play it back, then u might hear it thru the SPDIF output since the sound is record and stored digitally, or try the the time shift feature, the source shld be digital since its cache on the HD.

  3. That is exactly it I think. Recorded movies play through the digital out, but just TV itself doesn't. Oh well, guess I can live with it. It's just annoying when that I have to unhook the audio out for my speakers in order to use my headphones.

I was wondering if you or anyone else had this problem. If I use my headphones and then unplug them and forget to put in my speaker's analog cable and restart the computer, the sound for the TV tuner card doesn't work even when I hook my speakers back up. In order for the sound to start working again, I have to unhook the SPDIF cable for my speakers, and then hook up the analog and restart the computer before I get any sound.

    Thanks
