svcd start from track 01, but not the beginning of the movie

Ok so my girlfriend has an apex 1130w and it plays everything almost. it has two problems, some svcd discs when loaded say "pbc off" then it wont play. so i was wondering if anybody has any ideas on what to do with that. and the other thing is svcd discs that do play seem to start from the frist track(track 01) but that is not the start of the movie. and i can't get it to start at anything befor that. so every time we miss the beginning of the movie. im not making the svcd's so i cant change or remove the tracks. i could redo them but was wondering if there was a way around this with the dvd player. i tried to turn off pbc so it wouldnt read the tracks but cant figure out how to turn it off. any help would be greatly apprediated.

double click fast on the play button on the remote and the menu will up and then choose which file to play.

thanks for the response i tried your suggestion but no menu poped up. the movie just starts to play from the first track. when i push the goto button and put 000000 in it says pbc off but when i push play it turns back on. any other suggestion would be greatly apperciated. is there any way to check firmware and maybe upgrade if possible. thanks.
