What kind of file, and what errors are you getting.

  3. Its a vcd (mpg) and it just says Could Not Open File Type C:\Documents and Settings\Eric Schneck\Desktop\Eric's Stuff\Movies\WWF.Survivor.Series.1987.VHSRip.VCD.C D1.mpg

  4. VirtualDub will not open .mpg files. Try VirtualDubMod instead.

Also, be aware that if you make any changes/modifications to the video file, you will not have the option to save your modified file as an .mpg. VirtualDubMod will not save in that format.

Have GSpot tell you what kind of file you have, and what codec you need.

If you want the audio, try loading the video into Gold Wave, if it loads save it as a wave with the settings you want.
    Hello.

    Thats BS.
VirtualDub will open them, it just needs to parse them first. If you can't open it with Virtualdub there might be errors in the MPEG header.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  9. My apologies...

Virtual Dub will open MPEG1 files, but not MPEG2.

    @timmyp:
I didn't mean to be pedantic or anything.

VirtualDub MPEG2 will open MPEG2 files
    If in doubt, Google it.

  14. You mean what settings to save the wav file with? You wanted 48kHz, right? You may have to resample to 48kHz, then save as WAV
    16bit stereo signed.

  15. argh I just ripped the audio and did all that jazz with Goldwave and it is still out of sync arghhhhhhhh

  16. OK.. hold on a minute... This is a VCD file which means the .mpg file should be in MPEG1 format. Have you tried doing a simple De-Multiplex with TMPGEnc?

Open TMPGEnc, close the wizard, go to File, then MPEG Tools, then select the Simple De-mulitplex tab. Browse for your .mpg file, leave the video and audio stream save info to their defaults and click 'Run'.

    What happens?

You should have a seperate video and audio stream.

Did you check your source file? Your audio synch problem could be due to bad frames, or an incorrect frame rate. Changing the audio sample rate won't correct the synch issue if that's the case.
