  1. Can someone tell me which apps that convert DVD to DIVX and or MPGs use dual CPUs and support high amounts of CPU ulitization? I have a dual Xeon 2.66 system, and see that Dr. Divx uses only about 50% of 1 cpu. Tmpgenc uses over 70%, and supports 2 CPUs, but doesnt do DIVX. Anyone know of any other programs?

main concept and CCE are both dual cpu enabled but main concept will use both of them to the max better ..

I was reminded yesterday that TMPGEnc does in fact do Divx. Go to File>Output To File>AVI File. Then just select your codec of choice. Granted TMPGEnc doesn't have the best interface for Divx but it can be done. Hell, it doesn't have the best interface for MPEG either.

  4. try canopus procoder www.canopus.com

it should take advantage of your multi processors; although, I had an old server - 4 processors but I was constrained by bus speed to the cpu's - never got over 50-60% CPU (but these were P3 so that could have been a problem also - was depending on OS for multithreading)

canopus should have a demo available that you could download (but is a bit pricey at $499 - there's an express version - fewer batch options, etc. but may still handle multi processors well) - pls. post back how you do w/ this..... good luck!
