  1. My video is xvid and the sound is ac3, how do I convert this to play on my dvd player. Do I need to do anything to the sound, isn't ac3 what you want it to be so that it will work on the dvd player?

I'm assuming you have a set top DVD player ?

You need to convert the XVid file to MPEG2 and then author it to convert it to IFO, BUP and VOB files. Then you will be able to watch it on your DVD Player. Theres a fair chance though that downloaded movies will look crap at DVD resolution though.
    If in doubt, Google it.
