  1. this has probably been answered x amount of times, anyway..

i recently purchashed a panasonic hebs 100 unit, which is a dvd writer with a hd (for my tv). great i thought i can now write stuff to dvd and rip the dvds on my pc and eventually store them as mpegs..

so i did just that, recorded the news on a dvd - r.
then placed it in my dvd drive on my pc but it doesnt read it..so i downloaded dvdinfopro and it confirmed that my dvd drive..
    samsung cdrw/dvd sm-348b
would not play dvd - r / dvd - rw

i then found a friend with a dvd writer on his computer which was about a year old...however it failed to read the dvd r as well.

what do i do? and if its go purchase another drive..what sort of prices/models etc am i looking at?

    thanks

    regards
    Nick

  2. in addition to this post, dvdinfo confirms that my dvd does play dvd-r and dvd - rw

    ive burned the dvd on

creation - dvd -r, data storage ver. 2.0

theoretically my pc (provding dvdinfo is correct) should play this disc
