  1. I recently installed Procoder 1.5 after uninstalling v.1.0.1 but now the new version just starts the conversion and never stops!

Here's what happens: I enter ANY source file (dv, avi, mpg) and try to convert it to any format (DVD, VCD, SVCD etc) with NO filters or tweaking any of the advanced settings. The conversion process starts normally (but preview is unavailable regardless of whether the preview button is clicked or not) the remaining time indicator counts down normally and the progress bar completes. Then the program gets stuck there with the remaining time at zero, but the "overall time" counter continues counting endlessly.

If I stop the process the output file is always about 30kb and unplayable regardless of the input/output format.

Does anyone have any ideas or do I have to go back to v.1.01. after all this hassle?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

What color is your USB handware key (= "dongle")?

Though I am unsure if this qualifies as warez, there is a method to add the 1.5 engine to the 1.0 version. Another user here (he's now gone offline it appears) showed me how.

Considering you own the program, I'd like to think finding alternative methods of making your own stuff work is not warez.

Or you can call Canopus (and hope to not get a run-around).

  5. Hi lordsmurf, thanks for the tip. I remember reading about that somewhere so i'll have a look around. It's just annoying that 1.01 worked pretty much perfectly (in retrospect I'm not sure 1.5 features justify the upgrade) and this one won't.

Anyway, thanks again for your help. Great site btw, I'm a frequent visitor.

Call Canopus and ask them to send you out the revised dongle. The white one had problems.

  7. DF, Have you got DirectX 8.1 installed?

I had a similar problem, which was cured by downloading the latest version.
