  1. Hello all,

I have followed several converting guides, and I am following each one exactly.

My problem is this. When I load up my .avi file in Gspot, the codes that the files uses are DIVX4 and MPEG 1 - Layer 3. Ok, fine. Now, I use Vdub Freeze and Vdub to remove bad frames and pull of the audio file. Fine. No problem. I then use TMPGenc Plus to convert to SVCD. Conversion goes through no problem. Now, when I open up the file in Widows Media Player, I get a "Class Factory" error. I clicked on the ever helpful "more help" button for Microsoft and of course, came up with nothing. So, I open up the mpeg file in Gspot and tells me that there are no codes being used.

Can someone give me some advice here?

    Thanks,

    LG

You've made an mpeg2 which media player cannot handle because you need an mpeg2 codec. Install PowerDVD (even the trial version) which will give you the codec.

Gspot does not test mpegs, try avicodec.
