I just bought a second HD for my computer. I am going to connect it in the following way:

1st IDE - OS HD (Master) + DVD ROM (Slave)
2nd IDE - DVD Burner (Master) + 2nd HD (Slave)

I think it is better to connect DVD Burner as Master, is that right?

    Or,
connect your hard drives on the same IDE channel (use the primary), then connect the recorders on the second. You will very seldom use the two recorders at the same time.

  3. I would also do the hard drives on one and the roms on the other. You'll often go from cd->hdd, but not as often hdd->hdd which is pretty much the only thing you'd gain by putting the two drives on different channels. Plus hard drives are quick enough that even on the same channel you won't see many problems. You'd also not really need to separate the roms simply because you won't (or shouldn't, anyway) go from cd->cd
