Just got a AIW 9700 Pro.

First impressions are very favorable, Tuner video quality seems much better than the Asus (Philips) and Leadtek Expert (Connexant) cards I tried but returned.

Also although I haven't output to TV yet, the tuner captures using Lord Smurfs "Movie" settings look very good as well. Hope the VCR captures do as well.

Using MMC 9.0 I have noticed that during any channel change there is noise from the speakers. Is this normal?

    Thanks.

  2. Well yes it can be, I also have the 9700 but I haven't used the tuner. The audio might not be muted when the VCO is moving to the next CH. Much like old cable boxes, vcr and tv's did back when.

Not a problem just annoying, unless you have your audio cranked way up....

    Enjoy...........
Leave it to an EE to build it, Then a Tech will fix it!!!

My tv and cable boxes still do that, even my JVC 3800 VCRs do it. Normal.

Also happens when the MMC TV software is coming up.

Pretty loud scritching noise (sorry my best impression) didn't have it with two other tuner cards I tried and returned.

Yes, I'm sure its because the sound isn't muted during.

  5. I have the AIW 9600Pro AGP card. Currently using MMC 9.0. I noticed that annoyance since first installation including MMC 8.* that came with it.
I also have an older machine with an old AIW Pro card running the old MMC version but never exhibits this "annoyance." Seems like the old softwares were much smoother.
I don't care for the navigation hotkeys for the recent MMC versions either. Channel surfing used to be controlled by the "-/+" keys and volume with the the "up/down" keys. Now they're reversed for no particular reason.
Does anyone know how to customize hotkeys? Like to channel surf and volume with the arrow keys. I just think that would be a little more logical.
