Hi,
Just wondering if this is normal. Took about 1.5 hours to burn a DVD+RW at 4X speed. This includes all the processes it goes through except the DV Video capture. This was a video that was 102 minutes at the DV-AVI type 2 method. I am using the ULEAD Video studio 7 software. ( Can't wait until 8x discs come out !!!)
Also , would anyone know the diference between DV type 1 and 2? Is one better than other? Thanks in advance.

I suspect that what your time represents is the time it took ULEAD to process the DV AVI (convert it into MPEG-2), author a DVD and burn. All that for 1.5 hours is just fine.
Additionally, burning a DVD+RW at 4x is only possible with 8X burners. All 4x +R burners I know can only burn +RW at 2.4X, which translates into 20 min or so.The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -

Just burning a DVD+R/RW at 4x should be ~14 minutes and 2.4x should be ~24min.
If it's taking longer than that, then the software is doing something else(like Sasi said) or maybe it shows that it can burn the media at 4x, but there might be something going on on your machine that is preventing it(non-DMA mode or something). -
Hi,
When I said it takes 1.5 hours, that time included the other operations that go on including the burn time. Thanks for inputs.
