  1. I want to convert AVI clips generated through Canon POwershot A75. They are quite big at 40 MB for 3 min . video. I want to convert those to small sizes without losing quality.

    Is there any software/freeware that I can use for the above purpose.

    Please help.

    To answer your subject question: TMPGEnc (for MPG1). Or AviSynth+quenc for MPG2
    But you can't reencode without losing some quality - that's in the nature of a "not lossless" encoding method. The smaller the size, the more quality you'll lose.

    Freeenc and AVIDemux are good freeware Converters. BBMPEG is another one but i think it may be slower.
    Should test all of the free converters some day!
