  1. When I create a mpeg2 to be played on my TV using TPMGenc, I notice that I have to use 480 for width and 576 for height instead of vise versa. This is the only setting my DVD player (lenco) will accept.

    Does this make sence?

    cheers

  3. lmichiel, VCDs and SVCDs don't use square (i.e., 1:1) pixels. You will have to get used to the concept of display aspect ratio which is completely separate from the physical dimensions of the video.

Both VCDs and SVCDs have a DAR of 4:3, which means whatever their physical dimensions LOOK like on a 1:1 pixel display (i.e., PC monitor), they will be forced to display with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (i.e., full screen TV).

    Regards.

  4. Thanks all, next question though:
How do I make a mpeg which looks good on a PC (1:1) and good on a DVD player (4:3)

Can I use the following setting in tmpgenc:
On video tab: Aspect Ratio 1:1 and on advanced tab Source Aspect Ratio 4:3

    cheers
