I finally set up my CANOPUS ADVC-100 and did a test of capturing 1hr of vhs footage. My question is does it take that long to burn to dvd using ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY? The burning process seems long. Would I be able to use a different program other than ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY after I capture? I'm a newbie to this capturing. After capturing with CANOPUS I have 6 avi files. How can I compile it all to just one avi file? I would appreciate any suggestions and help. Thanks in advance!

The burn process will take as long as the speed of your burner.
In my case one hour, as mine is one speed.
This excludes the time Ulead MF (v 2.0, right?) takes to author to the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders needed for a DVD compliant disk.
I find MF (I have v1.0) very simple to use with great results.
If you're new at this I'd suggest mastering MF first, there are others but there no easier and not as cheap to buy.
As for joining your avi's I have no idea, I would guess Virtualdub can do this but I don't know how.
So you want one long clip, rather than six with individual chapter buttons.
Be warned, a pain in the arse bug with MF (v2.0 only) is that if you have one clip that you want to create indiv. chapters from you'll get a menu screen with the main clip and then a second with your individual chapter points (rather than just one page with indiv. points).
It might be ideal for you, I find it a nuisance when I only have one clip.
