  1. Not sure if this is the right forum, but how do I capture screenshots of a movie. Say I want to take a particular frame of a movie and use it as a background, how do I capture it? I want a screenshot similar to the samples on the "what is a vcd" page.

You can use Irfanview 32. Open the flick in your media player. Open Irfanview and go to options, select capture, then the active window, voila.
Or open the flick in you media player, click your Print Screen button, open a graphics viewer (Irfanview) and select paste. THen crop and edit out the other background.

Search for Irfanview by searching for Irfanview 32 (absolutely the best freeware full super happy functional viewer)

  4. If you use VirtualDub, you can go to Video, Copy Source frame to Clipboard, then paste that into whatever you want.

  5. Dr Evil's method is probably easiest.

With the unnamed member's method, you will probably have to set "hardware accelaration" to none before it will work.
