Why are you running your file through TMPGEnc? Author and burn it as is, an 80 min. VCD will hold 800 MB.

  3. Yes thank you I know that. The file size is 774 MB the movie is 1HR:39MIN:47SEC in length. I actually tried overburning using nero by setting the default 82min to 100 which im guessing is not a good idea...then nero froze and my drive started to show a red light so that didn't work. i'm using tempenc because i saw a guide conversation and it said something about using it to make the file smaller by making a one disk vcd template then you end up with a desired file size..etc..
    does this make any sense?
i also have a big .mov file that i want to turn to vcd but not sure where to start.

    thanks,

    Ummm, no.

    No overburning required.

Use the nero template for VCD. Drag in the MPEG, and turn of 'complient', since it's non-standard. You can drop an 800 MB VCD into Nero and it will burn on a 700 MB CDR.

You see it's like this: A 700 MB data CDR has 800 MB of space on it. The difference is for error correction and 'formatting'. VCD/SVCD doesn't have any error correction, so you can stuff a little more in there.

found my problem..the guide i was going by said to make your own template... i'm now trying the vcd template..that should fix things
    thanks,
