Well I've had a GEforce 4 4400 since they came out... nice card. Its a gainward "Golden sample" which most importantly means it has a 3 year warranty.

Long story short: The card dies, and once I dug up my reciept it only took 2 very quick phone calls and I had someone from Gainwards RMA support on the line. After explaining what was happening he said ok you need to RMA and gave me the RMA # and address. Then as he is entering it into the comptuer he say "OH we discontinued the 4400 card a while back, would a 4800 be ok?" I say sure and ship it off 20 min later.

More companies should be this easy to deal with.

I've had similar experiences with Apple, D-Link, PNY, Kingston, and Tyan. They have all pretty much sent me new items instead of waiting for the current one to be repaired, sometimes just upgrading me in the process. It is nice to have readily available, free tech support on things.

Yeah Apple tends to be easy to deal with, also I remember back in the day when almost all of the hard drive manufactuers would cross ship you a new drive if you just provided a credit card as insurance of them getting the old one. Sadly I think most if not all of them have stopped doing that.

I just always like to let people know when I have an easy time dealing with a company, thats why I do most of my online part buying at newegg instead of saving maybe a couple of dollars somewhere else, cause I know when things go wrong newegg will treat me right.

Just an update, the card came in yesterday so it was 2 weeks on the dot from the time I mailed it 2day express (so it would make it be the end of that week even with the holliday) and the time I had a new card in my hand. Not bad, plus I'm a 4800 now... nice.
