  1. I had a wierd problem crop up a couple of days ago. Suddenly my 2 pass encodes with either CCE or MainConcept started locking up just as the second pass started when frame served with AVIsynth. No problems with encodes direct from the .avi and no problems on single pass. I've been using 2.52 for a while with no problems, so I went ahead and downloaded the 2.53 version of Avisynth and installed it and the problem went away.

Ok, it's gone, but I'm stumped. Any ideas what happened? No recent Windows updates that I'm aware of (Using XP professional). I haven't updated CCE for 6 months or more (it's working don't mess with it ). Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and has a real fix or root cause. To my mind I didn't fix the problem it just went away. Before anyone says it, I defrag about twice a week when I'm doing video work so the drive is in good shape.

    Search Comp PM
Reverse seeking broken in Avisynth or the AVI codec.
Try opening the same AVS with Vdub and seek backwards to reproduce it.

  3. Must be in AVIsynth then since upgrading made the problem go away. Plus, 2 pass encodes directly from the avi worked fine. If the problem re-occurs I'll try what you suggest.
