I bought this 46" Sharp LCD (46D64U) from CC on BF. I don't have any HD DVD player so I hooked a regular DVD player using component input. When I watch DVD, if I pressed Display button on my TV remote, the information will show on the screen said " Video: 480p". However, sometimes, I turned on the TV first and then turned on the DVD player. After watched the TV program for several minutes to avoid watching the beginning introduction of DVD, then I tried to switch my "Input" to "Input 1 (component)", there was no signal there even the DVD player was running. On the screen, it gave me this " Video: --". I have to turned off the TV and restart it, then everything became fine again. This already happened twice to me for the past week. Anybody have an idea or same problems? Should I return this one and make an exchange?

    Thanks!

I have the 42 inch sharp aquos and I have experienced the same problem as you. I'm fiddling around with the settings to see if I can fix this... I'll post whatever I find about that problem here.

    I would suggest the following.
    1) Do a search for a forum like this one:
    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=771987
and ask there. After reading DanGaud's post, it sounds suspiciously like this is "normal" behavior for this unit.
    2) You might look at the Sharp website for a firmware update. There might be one that addresses this issue. I don't know offhand how one would apply a firmware update to a TV, but I suppose it might be possible that you can do this.

Thanks for the info about another forum. It is really helpful. BTW, the firmware on my TV already has the newest version....
