  1. Hi,

    Has anyone the same problem as I?

    I can play the mpeg2 fine in WinDVD, but when authored in Ulead Moviefactory 2 and an image is made and burned or mounted the
    audio is out of sync...

    Ulead does _not_ reencode, I use NTSC.

    Wierd.

    I am thinking of DVD Architect instead, is it better?
    My mpeg is 16:9, 720x480 with mp2 at 48000 khz.

    This problem can be fixed in most cases.

    Which application did you use to create the source MPEG?

    Hi, thanks for answer!

    I used the almighty Tmpgenc.

    I did the following:

    a) extract the audio and video to different streams (input is NTSC VCD)

    b) transcode audio to 48000hz and to mp2

    b) transcode video from 1:1 to 16:9 keeping aspect ratio, also changing to 720x480 still keeping aspect ratio.

    c) put the audio and video back together and playing the mpeg fine, but not after authored in Ulead.

    Would be great to hear a solution

    By using any authoring software other than Ulead

    Try the trial version of TMPGEnc DVD Author, that'll fix it.

    he he. Obviously

    DVD Architect will do the job I think.

    Tmpeg DVD Author is ok, but the menues are damn ugly.
    Canīt you customize them like other authorware?

  7. I have been having the same issues. I use TMPGenc to create separate audio/video and use Ulead Movie Creator 7.0 to join the two. The resulting MPEG starts out in sync, but as time goes on, it becomes more and more out of sync, so that after about an hour or so, the audio is easily one to two seconds behind the video.

    Ulead's technical support told me to download the latest patches, but that doesn't seem to help at all.

    AAARRRGGGHHHH!

    Any solution will be appreciated.

    To overcome potential loss of video/audio synchronization that might result when you record MPEG-2 source files *edited in VideoStudio or MediaStudio Pro* to DVD or CD discs, you should add an entry to the configuration file of Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.01 (or Ulead VideoStudio 7.01) prior to beginning your MPEG editing project.

    On my Windows XP computer:

    1. I clicked START;

    2. I clicked MY COMPUTER;

    3. I clicked C: drive;

    4. I clicked the DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS folder;

    5. In the WINDOWS TOOLS menu, I clicked FOLDER OPTIONS;

    6. I clicked the VIEW tab;

    7. I ticked the option to SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS;

    8. I clicked OK;

    9. I clicked the ALL USERS folder;

    10. I clicked the APPLICATION DATA folder;

    11. I clicked the ULEAD SYSTEMS folder;

    12. I clicked the ULEAD MEDIASTUDIO PRO (or Ulead VideoStudio) folder;

    13. I clicked the 7.0 folder;

    14. I clicked the MSP I-N-I (or UVS I-N-I) configuration file;

    15. Under the [VIODRIVER] heading, I typed CloseAudioDTR=1;

    As follows:

    CloseAudioDTR=1

    16. I saved the change.

    By adding this entry, I am able to edit the DVD camcorder MPEG files, DVD player/recorder MPEG files, and other types of MPEG files and export them to become a single DVD-ready MPEG-2 file.

    As long as my Ulead MediaStudio Pro (or Ulead VideoStudio) project settings match the properties of the source MPEG, I only observe re-encoding of the timeline *audio.*

    The video, however, remains untouched - except where it has been changed by titles, transitions, or filters.

    By adding the above entry, the MPEG video and audio synchronization is perfect - even *after* the edited file is burned to a DVD or CD disc with custom menus.

    Hope this helps,

  9. I had an issue with a DVD where the audio was slighty ahead of the video as the clip went on. I changed the project video type in Ulead VideoStudio 6 under project settings to MPG rather than AVI and re-exported. It fixed the problem. I had captured everything in AVI from my DV cam and some of it had already been converted to DVD MPEG-2 for space savings. I had a mix of types for the project source video.

    Makes me happy!
